Dear members and friends



For this Holiday Season, a number of different activities have come together to fill this festive time.  There will be fuller details that will follow, where indicated, as this is just a summary picture to help your holiday planning as well as into the early New Year.




SHEPHERDS PLAY



Daniel Bittleston will again be leading the wonderful cast in another production of that old favorite, the Oberufer Shepherds Play, at the Louden Nelson Center on Saturday, December 17 at 7 pm.  This year there will be extra performances – one for the Waldorf School on Friday and a further performance at the Hidden Valley Music Center, 104 West Carmel Valley Road, Carmel Valley, CA 93924 on Sunday, December 18 at 3 pm.



CAMPHILL CALIFORNIA HOLIDAY MARKET



Camphill will host its Holiday Celebration at Paloma Hall, 4096 Fairway Drive, Soquel on Thursday, December 22 from 10.30 to 12.30 am. 



CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY

HOLY NIGHT RETREAT with Nicoletta Stofkoper, Amsterdam

The Dreamsong of Olaf Asteson

Thursday, Friday and Saturday

December 29, 30 and 31

from 11 am to 12:30 pm

This retreat will include looking at the cultural and spiritual roots of the Dreamsong, working on it through guided speech exercises and wondering what it has to do with us today.

Your contribution of $10 per session or $25 for all three days will be greatly appreciated.



New Year’s Day at 12 noon:  The Dreamsong of Olaf Asteson

performed in English by Nicoletta Stofkoper, with music by Robin Dagg and a lyre ensemble




HOLY NIGHTS



Wanda Taylor has gathered all of us together for an enriching program over the Holy Nights from December 26 to January 6 – further details to follow.



MEMORIAL FOR DANIEL BIRNS



Joya Birns will host a Music Night as a Memorial for Daniel Birns at 304 National Street on Tuesday, January 17 at 7pm – further details to follow.



INTRODUCTION TO JOHN BLOOM



John Bloom, recently appointed General Secretary of the Anthroposophical Society in America, will meet with members, sharing his tasks and outlook for the Society.  He will answer any questions that we might have for him.  At Paloma Hall on Friday, January 27 at 7 pm – further details to follow

 

 THE THREEFOLD SOCIAL ORDER – an exploration



On Saturday, January 28, there will be a one-day event highlighting the Threefold Social Order.  John Bloom, whose work is with the RSF Social Finance, Gary Lamb from the Hawthorn Valley Center of Social Research and John Baring of Camphill will each offer their experiences in working with the indications of Rudolf Steiner related to the Threefold Social Order and what they have learned over the years.  Between their contributions will be question times, conversations and Eurythmy.  At Paloma Hall, 3920 Fairway Drive, Soquel – further details to follow.



A BIOGRAPHY WORKSHOP WITH KAREN APANA



Two-day biography workshop at Paloma Hall, 3920 Fairway Drive, Soquel on March 3 and 4 – further details to follow.



VIRGINIA SEASE ON THE MYSTERIES AND THE GREAT TEACHERS OF HUMANITY



Virginia Sease will visit with the Branch and its members and give three lectures on the cycle, The Mysteries and the Great Teachers of Humanity at Paloma Hall, 4096 Fairway Drive, Soquel on March 31 and April 1 – further details to follow.
